Hatsuhi (Hat-sue-he) is the Japanese tradition of waking early to see the first sunrise of the new year. On New Year’s Day, Japanese families will usually have a large traditional breakfast to celebrate “first sun”. “Hatsuhi Sunrise” was created to honor this Japanese tradition.
